Day 1Arrival & Euston

Monday

Historic Euston station arch in London
  • Travel: London to Nantmor (~1h20min total, 55 mins to Llandudno Junction, plus 12 mins to Zip World if you detour).

  • Grab a coffee at the original Euston arch before hopping on the regional train at Crewe.

Day 2Harlech Beach & Castle

Golden sands of Harlech Beach, Wales
  • Drive from Nantmor to Harlech (~25 mins). Enjoy the golden sands and surf.

  • Then a short 5-minute drive to Harlech Castle. Built by Edward I in 1283, a UNESCO World Heritage site, famed for its massive walls and dramatic sea views.

Day 3Caernarfon & Steam Train

Caernarfon Castle fortress in Wales
  • Drive (~30 mins) to Caernarfon. Explore Caernarfon Castle (built by Edward I in 1283, impressive polygonal towers, The Castle of the Moon).
  • Photo of Caernarfon Castle (above).
  • Catch the historic Welsh Highland Railway steam train. Runs along the coast with spectacular mountain vistas, journey lasts ~45 minutes from Caernarfon to Porthmadog.
  • Buy tickets online in advance. Onboard tea service available.

Day 4Snowdon (Yr Wyddfa)

  • Drive (10 min) to the Watkin Path trailhead. The classic Watkin Path climbs 1,600 m over 10 km, with breathtaking views of the Snowdonia range.
  • Consider the quieter Rhyd Ddu Path for a less crowded ascent.

  • Weather changes fast - bring warm layers and waterproofs.

Day 5Zip World Caverns

Friday

Zip World Caverns underground adventure in Wales
  • Short 12-minute drive from Nantmor to the cavern entrance.
  • Photo of Zip World Caverns (above). 3-hour underground adventure: zip lines through ancient slate tunnels, rope bridges over glowing chambers, and a via ferrata section.
  • Safety gear provided. Bring a water bottle and sturdy shoes.

Day 6Free Day

Saturday

  • No scheduled activities - explore local villages, revisit a favourite spot, or simply relax.
